Piazza San Marco

Piazza San Marco was once called the “the drawing room of Europe” by Napoleon, although never proven. Piazza San Marco is the main public square in Venice. The photo above was taken from the balcony of Saint Mark’s Basilica and this view of the lagoon is referred to as The Piazzetta San Marco. Saint Mark’s Basilica is church which is regarded as one the best examples of Byzantine architecture.
