A five metre high statue of legendary French footballer Zinedine Zidane headbutting Marco Materazzi is on display outside Pompidou Centre, an art museum in Paris. The infamous incident occurred in the 2006 World Cup final were Zidane was sent off. France went on to lose the final on penalties to Italy. The incident was provoked by Materazzi who admitted to making comments about Zidane’s sister. The bronze statue was sculpted by algerian artist Adel Abdessemed.
